Leadership Transitions

Leadership transitions are a time to honor those who have led well while preparing intentionally for a new season of ministry ahead. As a Network, we are here to help resource and support our ministry leaders and churches as they position themselves to bring the Gospel to the lost in their region. Some of the resources we make available to our Network churches are interim pastors, succession plan coaching and support in pastoral search.


The role of an interim pastor is to shepherd a congregation toward a positive future vision, allow space for transition and prepare the congregation for a healthy relationship with new leaders. The need for an interim pastor may occur when a Senior Pastor plans to take a sabbatical or when a church is searching for a new pastor due to retirement or other means.

Succession Planning

There is not a singular pattern or set of rules for succession planning because there are many differentiating factors that make each succession process unique.  However, it is proven that an effective succession plan requires planning and intentionality. Whether you are 26 or 62, the SNE Network is here to help guide, resource and counsel you on your succession planning journey. It is never too early to begin. We want to help you take ownership of your future succession so that the transition process will be fruitful for both you as the exiting minister and your church as they welcome their new leader.
